They made the rangers and tranq choppers fairly self sufficient which was really nice, but then they just reintroduced forcing you to have to do the same TEDIOUS mechanic with the medivan which for some reason can't be assigned to outposts. It would probably help a lot if they focused more on making the management element more focused on FUN rather than challenging. ![]() The first game, by the time I unlocked everything I was already fairly spent on the game for a good while. It's that some of the challenges are really grating/frustrating and the fact I simply just don't have the free time so it will take me quite a while to unlock everything. It was a super anti-climactic end that really sapped the joy out of the experience and if this was the intentional solution, I’m not sure how I was supposed to figure it out without mind-numbing trial and error.įor me it's not even that I have an issue with doing chaos theory and the challenges, even though I'm more sandbox type. The game then instantly jumped me up to 5 stars and I beat the JP section. It seemed like all that time, I just hadn’t sold enough of my assets to meet whatever criteria the game was after. Once my cash got up to about 1.5 mil, the hemorrhaging finally stopped. ![]() Finally, in a fit of frustration, I just started demolishing every building in the park. There was a notice at the bottom of the screen reminding me to sell fossils and buildings if my cash was depleted, but even trying that didn’t seem to work. No matter how many times I retried, this one storm would tank my park into bankruptcy, even with everything operating smoothly and a cushion of a couple mil. Even with all my problem dinos tranq’d, repairs made, and shops optimized, my money kept depleting well past the point where it had normally recovered after any other storm. The storm damage seemed like it was explicitly targeting my fences, in such a way that I wasn’t sure if the storm was scripted or a random event. I had weathered the climactic event fine, and my funds were recovering nicely, but within about 15 min my park got hit with a massive hurricane. I’ll preface by saying I’m having a lot of fun playing Chaos Theory, but I’ve definitely hit a few points where I have been gritting my teeth in frustration due to unclear mechanics/instructions.ĭuring the conclusion of the Jurassic Park module in Choas Theory, right after the park gets sabotaged while placing the T-Rex, I had a moment where I was ready to give up because I just didn’t understand what I was doing wrong. Have you seen the kind of questions people asked on this sub about the first game? Some people are just plain stupid and can't grasp anything more complicated than tic tac toe. There are quite a few people who are running into gamebreaking bugs and glitches and a challenge you have to repeat due to crashes will sour any game. You can get into a position where the new mechanics are constantly repeating, such as having to manage constant infighting and injuries if you fail to manage your animals' dominance levels.įor some, the management gameplay is nothing more than an annoying obstacle to get to the sandbox gameplay they actually purchased the game for. The game doesn't adequately explain some of its new mechanics and you kind of have to stumble upon some of the correct ways to handle them. Some people didn't expect the sequel to be a step up in difficulty compared to the original and were expecting to have a similarly easy time. ![]() Breaking this rule will result in an immediate and permanent banĪ few reasons I can think of that people are frustrated: Do not discuss pirating the game, do not ask for how to pirate the game.
